Barbara Robertson was born July 25th, 1992 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She spent her childhood in Italy with her mother before moving back to Massachusetts to live with her uncle during high school. Right after graduating high school she joined the Marine Corps in June 2011. Robertson did her basic training at Parris Island, South Carolina and her School of Infantry at Camp Geiger, North Carolina. She was next sent to Twentynine Palms California for wireman training. Robertson was then stationed in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina as a part of the 8th Communications Battalion. She arrived there in April 2012 and was then deployed to Afghanistan about a year later in May 2013.
